About this deal

Books can help teenagers to process sad feelings, especially when they find it hard to talk to adults. Angelos translates to "messenger" in Greek; the Hebrew word for angel is mal'ach, also meaning messenger. Out of the Blue was an adorable coming-of-age story involving teenage love and struggling to find where you fit in the world.

It’s hard to be like “it makes me feel weird and uncomfortable so it’s bad” because this is geared for young adults and I’m not the target audience.

That said, the biggest issue for me was that the narrative seemed to be having somewhat of an identity crisis with who the audience was supposed to be. The magical realism is brilliantly handled; Teacake the angel is an especially memorable and totally convincing character. His dad’s reaction is lovely, leading to a happier life for his son, and a brighter one for everyone.

The authors interviewed her twice but their planned third session was canned when she resigned, so perhaps they simply never got to put these to her. I received an advance reader copy of The Bookseller quoted Cole and Heale as saying Truss "has been written off, belittled and undermined throughout her march to power", and expressing a desire to explain her rise to the prime minister's office. This chapter evokes its splendour with highly innovative designs that exemplify Tiffany’s savoir faire, such as blue cuprian elbaite tourmalines and diamonds set en tremblent in inverted settings that lend a sense of motion and texture to the creations.Obviously, there's nothing wrong about that, but I personally prefer it when romances don't focus as much on the sexual aspect, that's it. There's also the *myriad* of questions I have about the mythology of this story, but I won't bring them up because it seems like the mythology wasn't the part Jason June was interested in exploring or constructing. As I said, merpeople are all non-binary, so when Ross goes to land, they decide to maintain the pronouns they used under the sea instead of 'choosing a binary gender to blend in better with the humans', like their elders told them. Now, I don't want to spoil anything, but I'll just say that while it may seem like a very clichéd story (and I don't mean this in a negative way at all), it actually. There were also a lot of elements about it that read true to teen relationships and how wildly messy they can be.

The loving relationship between the single dad and his son is particularly nicely done in a matter-of-fact way, and the rhythm of the rhyming text pulls the reader through the story at the perfect pace. And the other thing -- I fully admit that this is going to be a deeply personal irritation, but I was a competitive swimmer for most of my childhood and I JUST CAN'T with the details. I usually have a very hard time reading books due to my ADHD and much prefer audiobooks, so it's a pretty high honor that I was able to finish this in just two days! Seventeen-year-old Jaya has lost a lot recently: her mother, who died in a freak accident, and her first girlfriend, who has moved away without warning.

With unrivalled access and insight, award-winning political journalists Harry Cole and James Heale provide the answers, drawing on interviews with Truss's friends and supporters, as well as her worst critics and rivals, from Kwasi Kwarteng to Michael Gove. This sophomore novel from Jason June dives into the many definitions of the word home and shows how love can help us find the truest versions of ourselves. This assured novel stands out for the quality of its writing and imaginative vision, among the many other books about teenagers dealing with grief. While the book does note that the affair was much more damaging for Truss than it was for Field, it only cursorily mentions the more lurid allegations made against Truss.
